Why is it that when people go for a walk, they usually go somewhere like a park, a beach, along a river, or somewhere similar? Why do they choose that rather than through the nearby industrial area? Why do we often like to take our holidays in places that have a presence of nature or some scenic beauty?
Because we feel good there! But why do we feel good there? And what exactly is that feel good, how do we best access it? How much might we benefit, and what does it mean for us?
Modern lives are busy ones, and there are many ongoing things to manage. The stressors are multiple. At the same time we have become somewhat detached from the natural world, the one we were designed to function well in.
There is something innate in each of us however, no matter how preoccupied we have become. Through some simple daily habits we can come back to a more natural self. A self that is happier, calmer, more peaceful, and aligned with longer term wellbeing.
